  Zou Zhiwu, deputy director of the General Administration of Customs of China, said in Beijing on the 20th that China’s foreign trade import and export volume has increased by 198 times in the past 40 years of reform and opening up, and has become one of the most important forces driving world trade growth. Now, every 5,000 yuan (RMB, the same below) goods enter and leave China's customs territory every five minutes.

  Zou Zhiwu said at the 2018 annual meeting hosted by China News Service, thanks to reform and opening up, China’s foreign trade has experienced “miracle growth” in the past 40 years, with an average annual growth rate of 14.5%. At present, China has 1,400 merchandise exports ranking first in the world. The number of foreign trade directly or indirectly driving employment is nearly 200 million. The proportion of foreign trade in global trade has increased from less than 0.8% to over 11%.

  He said that there are now 290 million yuan of goods entering and leaving China's customs territory every five minutes, four international ships offshore or departing, nine international airlines taking off or landing, 1,120 containers, 5,492 shipments, 8,655 items leaving or Arrived, 2.06 million integrated circuits, 17,000 LCD panels, 10,000 mobile phones, 88 metal processing machines left China's customs, 34,000 pieces of cosmetics, 10,000 tons of iron ore, and 4,300 tons of crude oil entered China's borders.

  Zou Zhiwu said that China's foreign trade has become one of the "most important forces" to lead the growth of world trade.
